Information

On March 13, in Nizhny Novgorod, on the territory of the Shelokovsky khutor, the ski marathon "Nizhny 800" was held. The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Betin. The guests of honor were Soviet biathlete, two-time Olympic champion, three-time world champion Nikolai Konstantinovich Kruglov, silver medalist of the Olympic Games, four-time world champion in biathlon Nikolai Kruglov, Olympic champion in modern pentathlon, State Duma deputy Dmitry Svatkovsky and Russian skier, Olympic champion Alexander Legkov.

More than 500 professional skiers and amateurs of this sport from the Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Ivanovsk, Kirov, Vladimir, Ryazan, Moscow regions, as well as the republics of Mordovia, Tatarstan, Chuvashia and Mari El took part in the competitions at distances of 7, 30 and 50 kilometers. Each participant of the Nizhny 800 ski marathon received a branded starter package: a number, ski stickers, and a medal at the finish line. The total prize fund was 250,000 rubles.
