The agency arranged and conducted the most important and large-scale event of 2014 – the Olympic torch relay. It had its longest route of 83 km in Nizhny Novgorod (in contrast to Moscow – 77 km), besides our city ranked the highest in terms of the quantity of torch-holders (420 people). The celebration went on for two days, was held on five city stages and brought together the largest audience throughout its trip all over Russia. The peculiarity of the Nizhny Novgorod Olympic torch relay was the use of air-cushion ships as an alternative means of the Olympic torch transportation. The two largest Russian air-cushion ships Hivus-48 “Avgustin Betankur” and “Yakov Sivers” and two Hivus-10 with torch-holders on board departed from Nizhnevolzhskaya embankment and made a circle around the Volga water area, passing by the Tchkalovsky staircase and the Kremlin.
